About us
Heart of England Housing and Care is a not-for-profit company with exempt charitable status established as a member of the Heart of England Housing Group.
The company's principal activity is the operation of nine care homes, providing care services and accommodation to 449 older people and employing around 500 staff, throughout Worcestershire.
The company was established following the transfer of nine homes from Worcestershire County Council in 1999. Since then there has been an investment of almost £25 million in a major remodelling and refurbishment programme. This has resulted in:
- the complete demolition and rebuilding of five care homes in Malvern, Worcester, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Pershore
- the adoption of innovative partnering techniques that embraced 'Egan' principles for the new home construction programme
- each new home provides 60 en-suite rooms together with modern facilities and amenities, which meet or exceed the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000
- the purchase and refurbishment of an additional Home, Ravenhurst, in Stourport
- major refurbishments at the Homes in Upton-on-Severn and Droitwich.
The company is also keen to explore opportunities to grow the business further, both in Worcestershire and by expanding into other counties.
