September 2007: South Warwickshire Housing Association wins Neighbourhood Award

South Warwickshire Housing Association was revealed as the winner of a National Housing Federation Neighbourhood Award at a ceremony hosted by TV presenter Trisha Goddard.

The awards, which are judged by tenants from across the country, pay tribute to housing associations that aim to make local communities better places to live. The association won the award in the communications category for the way it promoted its 10th anniversary year. The centrepiece of this was its Home of the Future Schools Challenge, which involved over 400 year-10 students, Stratford-upon-Avon, Alcester and Kineton, together with tenants, staff and Board members.

Heart of England Housing Group and the Orbit Group have, over recent months, been exploring the benefits – for tenants, residents, future customers and staff – of joining forces to create a new organisation.

These benefits are at the centre of a proposal, approved by the Boards of each Group, to form a, partnership, which is designed to significantly strengthen all aspects of the two Groups’ combined operations.
