Partnership with Orbit - Your Views

South Warwickshire Housing Association's parent company, Heart of England Housing Group, is proposing a new partnership with the Coventry-based Orbit Group. As part of this proposal, The Association will form a new Midlands partnership with Orbit Housing Association. This will mean that your home would be owned by a new Housing Association, to be called Heart of England Housing Association, which would be formed on 1st April 2008.

A special edition of Tenants News, detailing the benefits of the proposal, was sent to all to all residents in July.

Consultation with residents

The newsletter contained a questionnaire designed to get resident's opinions about the proposals. The closing date for submission of these was 2 September. The Association is now collating the responses made and we will publish the results in this section of the website shortly.

This survey was one part of a number of consultation activities which also included:

Discussions about the proposals to the Resident Forum
A special area on the Association’s web-site which included an option to complete the survey form on-line
An opportunity for residents to ask questions of Association Board Members and Directors and the last round of Area Panel meetings
Four special local Roadshows which again provided residents with the opportunity to ask any questions they might have and to express their opinions.

Your views are important not just the Association but also to our government regulator, the Housing Corporation. The partnership cannot proceed unless they are satisfied that you have been given the opportunity to give your opinion about the proposal.
